Multiple Grammy Award-winning and multi-Platinum artist Bon Iver was an early adopter of L-ISA Hyperreal Sound technology, initially in 2018 for an exceptional event at The Santa Barbara Bowl. Then, over two days in October, at the brand new, state-of-the-art YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, Bon Iver performed two shows for their 10th anniversary of the band’s Grammy-winning sophomore album Bon Iver, Bon Iver with an L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal 7.1 spatial audio system.
Bon Iver’s frontman, Justin Vernon talks about his experience working with L-ISA and the show: “L-ISA is something we’ve been doing for the last couple of years. We’ve gotten to be on the ground floor of something new. It’s not just two stacks of speakers in a room anymore. And I feel really lucky that our front-of-house engineer Xandy [Whitsel], is the translator of our music. The first time we got to use L-ISA in Santa Barbara, he came right up to me and said, ‘That’s the best show you’ve ever played, and it has a lot to do with that sound system.’ Overall, if we were to prioritize what we’re bringing to the people out there, it’s what goes in their ears. What we’re trying to do is make it an experience. I hope they walk away emotionally charged enough to make a difference in the world. I just want them to walk away changed or moved.”
